Gracie Virginia Garrison
Gracie Virginia Garrison, 86, of Barboursville made her trip to be with the Lord on September 9, 2013.
Gracie was born October 9, 1926 in Albemarle County, daughter of the late Leland and Julie Frazier.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey T. Garrison; two sons, James Thomas and Harvey Junior Garrison; two sisters, Mamie Morris and Minnie McDonaldson; one brother, Prentice Frazier.
Gracie is survived by four daughters, Freda Shifflett and her husband, Leroy of Free Union, Brenda Knight of Boonesville, Patricia Mawyer and her husband, Doug of Scottsville, Carolyn Morris and her husband, Mike of Greene County; one son, David Garrison and his wife, Ethel of Scottsville; one brother, Herbert Rosson and his wife, Sally of Brown’s Cove; one sister, Ellen Morris of Grottoes; one stepson, Richard Garrison and his wife, Sharon of Waynesboro; one stepdaughter, Maxine Might and her husband, Jimmy of West Virginia.
Gracie had many beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful Grandmother to all of them. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends whom she loved so very much.
Gracie worked at Morton Foods/Con-Agra for 31 years.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Prize Hill Church.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Prize Hill Church with Rev. Marc Deloach. Interment will follow at Prize Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Hospice House for all of their love, support and care of Mom.
