Gladys Ryder Lam
Gladys Ryder Lam, 80, of Stanardsville, VA passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Grace Health and Rehab of Greene. She was born on September 20, 1934 in Madison, VA to the late Oscar and Martha Ryder.
She is survived by her son, Hollis Lam, Jr., and his wife, Brenda of Ruckersville; her daughter, Barbara Turpin and her husband, Ray of Bedford; five grandchildren, Jerry Hensley, Jr., David Lam, Dwayne Batten, James Batten and April Garrison; four great grandchildren, Jaylene and Landon Batten and Clara and Shelton Garrison, her cousin, Ken Ryder and many other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Hollis Lam, Sr., her brother, Lee Ryder and her special pet, Pepper.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968 with Rev. Mark Holder officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Stanardsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flower memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Ruckersville Fire Department, PO Box 789 Ruckersville, VA 22968.
