Frederick Neve Shifflett

Frederick “Fred” Neve Shifflett, 84, of Dyke began his journey home to the Peace of the Father Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his residence.
He was born August 25, 1931 in Greene County, son of the late Gilbert Shifflett and Nellie Morris Shifflett.
Through his past 28 year union to his former wife and beloved friend, Charlotte Shifflett Perry, they raised 7 children, Donald Neve Shifflett, Janice Louise Eicher, Fred Franklin Shifflett, Gloria Jean Mykich, Roy Lee Shifflett, Steve Wayne Shifflett and George Franklin Shifflett;.
Additional survivors include 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a special caregiver, Tiffany Robertson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mamie Morris, Cynthia Shifflett, Ruby Dodson, Addie Knight; brother, Henry Shifflett.
Fred was retired from the City of Charlottesville after 35 years of service.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Virginia.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 25, 2016 at Evergreen Church of the Brethren, 645 Evergreen Church Road, Stanardsville, Virginia.
