Frances Marie Brown

Frances Marie Brown, 79, of Ruckerville, Virginia passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Frances was born on September 19, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Tommy and Elsie Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul M. Brown, daughters Barbara “Bobby” Garrett and Elizabeth “Diane” Lawson, brother Tommy Morris Jr., and sisters Shirley Smith and Betty Knight. 

Frances is survived by her daughter Janice “Marie” Lamm and husband Rodney, adopted daughter Frances Ann Mawyer, step son Paul M. Meadows and wife Lisa, step daughter Viola Knight and husband Mark, two brothers Jim Morris (Dosha) and Newton Morris (Linda), two sisters Virginia Shifflet (Juston) and Linda Knapp (Charles), grandchildren Renee Lamm, Keith Lamm (Angie), Lisa Faye (Moe), Pamela Patterson (Justin), Keith Meadows, Laura Walker (Jon), Taylor Herring, Tamela Knight, Cory Knight, Kenneth Lawson (Bri), and Zander and Tyson Mawyer, thirteen great grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Throughout her life; she stayed active. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, cards, crocheting, puzzles, camping, and going to work with her daughter Janice “Marie.” She loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. One of her favorite pastimes was watching her grandkids play sports. She was her happiest when surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed.

A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Ryan Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Josh Shifflett with interment at Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, February 13, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
