Eunice Mae Deane, 76, of Ruckersville died on January 14, 2011 at her home after a long illness.

She was born on December 24, 1934 in Greene County, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Allie Morris Knight. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Deane, five brothers, Haywood, Parker, Wess, Lyndsey and Glenwood Knight, one sister, Lelia Snow and one granddaughter, Jessica Barnette.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Deane of Ruckersville, and Deborah Peregoy and her husband, Dale of Orange, two sons, Albert Deane and his wife, Jeanette of Stanardsville and Junior Deane and his special friend, Kathy of Ruckersville.

Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Albert Wayne Deane, Calvin Deane, Dakota Peregoy and Colton Peregoy, seven great grandchildren, four sisters, Katherine Bramel and her husband, Earl, and Lorene Simms and her husband, Jimmy all of Charlottesville, Elizabeth Long of Stanardsville and Helen Cabel of Richmond, six brothers, Alton Knight and his wife, Kay, Marvin Knight and his wife, Goldie, Casper Knight and his wife, Corrine, Jessie Knight and his wife, Ruby all of Stanardsville, Lyman Knight of Quinque, Elvin Knight and his special friend, Patricia of Elkton.

Eunice retired from Badger Fire Protection and attended Bethel Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by many family members, loved ones and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 3 – 5 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22768.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Wendell Lamb officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dale Peregoy, Junior Deane, Tom Dooly Breeden, Dwayne Yates, Troy Knight and Donnie Lamb.
