Emily Mae Morris Eppard, 79, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 24, 2016 in the comfort of her home in Stanardsville, VA. She was born on November 13, 1936 to the late Walter and Etha Morris.
She was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Jacob and Ruth Morris, her niece, Gail Knight, and a beloved grandson, Colby Eppard.
She leaves behind her family who loved her dearly, including her loving husband of 59 years, Harold T. Eppard; her daughter, Waltine (Guy) Maupin; two sons, Richard (Teresa) Eppard and Tommy (Diane) Eppard; four grandsons, Ritchie (Davra) Taylor, Daniel (Sharon) Taylor, Courtney (Amber) Eppard, and TJ Eppard; five great grandchildren, Olivia, Alyssa, Emma, Evan, and Delana; her brother, Wilbur (Nancy) Morris; her sister, Lillie (George) Kennedy; four step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and a host of cousins and friends.
She was a 1956 graduate of William Monroe High School and a member of Evergreen Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed embroidering, attending tractor shows with her husband, and drinking her favorite soda, Pepsi. She will be greatly missed by all of those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Church of the Brethren in Dyke, VA with the Reverend C.C. Kurtz officiating.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be sent to the Greene County Rescue Squad.
