Elmer Franklin Morris
Elmer Franklin Morris, 79, of Stanardsville went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, July 28, 2012.
Elmer was born March 19, 1933 in Albemarle County to the late George Lewis Morris and Lillie Frances Morris.
He graduated from the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind and was retired from the Monticello Dairy. Elmer was a founding member of the Church of God on Altavista Avenue.
He is survived by the love of his life and his wife of 56 years, Sallie Frances Morris; two daughters, Lillie Fae Taylor and her husband, Melvin of Rocky Mount, NC and Sallie Denise McDonald and her husband, Brian of Stanardsville; grandchildren, Melvin “T.J.” Taylor, Jr., Brandyce Brishen Taylor, Sherry Beth Taylor, Natasha Marie Estes and her fiancée, Eric Bishop, Wendy Danielle Estes, Warren Dale Estes and his wife, Erica; great grandchildren, Deborah, Brian Jr., Austin, Cayden, Katelyn, Trevor, Jahanna, Aleigha, Madalyn, Maxwell and McKayla.
He is also survived by three brothers, James Arthur Morris and his wife, Mary Frances, Ollie Morris and his wife, Avis, and Randolph Morris; and special friends he considered family, April and David Campbell and their children, Kayla, Daniel and Braley; and last but not least, his four-footed family, Okie, Killer and Lucy.
Elmer was preceded in death by a beloved brother, Orvin Lee Morris; sisters, Beatrice Shifflett and Florence Arlene Knight; a daughter he adored, Deborah Jean Estes; grandson, Jason Travis Taylor; great granddaughter, McKenzie Rae Estes.
Dad was a wonderful and special man. He was a loving and caring husband, father and Paw Paw. He had an unconditional love for all of his family and a faith in God that never wavered. Sing with the angels, Daddy. We love you.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tameka Turner and David Dean for their kindness in this difficult time and to Brenda and Joy Eye for their love and support.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Jerome Mozingo and Rev. David Morris officiating. Interment will follow at the Free Union Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
