Elizabeth Knight Long, 86, of Stanardsville, VA died on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born on July 21, 1924 in Greene County to the late Wilbur and Allie Morris Knight.
She is survived by her two daughters, Eleanor Harris and her husband, Richard and Wanda Long all of Stanardsville, her grandchildren, Ricky, George and Tiffany, four great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Additional survivors include her brothers, Alton Knight and his wife, Kay, Marvin Knight and his wife, Goldie, Casper Knight and his wife, Corrine, Lyman Knight, Jessie Knight and his wife, Ruby all of Stanardsville, and Elvin Knight and his friend, Patricia of Elkton., her sisters, Katherine Bramel and her husband, Earl, Lorene Simms and husband, Jimmy all of Charlottesville and Helen Cable of Richmond.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Long and her brothers, Parker, Glenwood, Lindsey, Haywood and Wes Knight and her sisters, Eunice Deane and Lelia Mae Snow.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway Suite 300 Charlottesville, VA 22911.
The family would like to thank the Nursing Staff of South 7 at Martha Jefferson Hospital for their loving support and dedicated care that was shown to Mrs. Long.
