Elizabeth Marie Kneale

Elizabeth Marie “Betsy” Kneale, 53, of Charlottesville, VA passed away Monday, October 8, 2018.
Betsy was a graduate of Onondaga Central High School in New York and of the University of Virginia. A gifted runner, she was a New York State cross-country and track champion. She was also a Division 3 All-American at Ithaca College before transferring to the University of Virginia. She was an All-ACC scholar-athlete at UVA.
After graduation, she earned a Master’s degree in education from LeMoyne College, became a science teacher in the Greene County Public School System, and was also Parks and Recreation Director for Greene County.
She is survived by her beloved son, Luke Berry of Quinque, VA; four siblings; and her father, Robert Kneale of Wilmington, North Carolina.
Betsy was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Kneale.
Services will be held at 12:15 P.M. Friday, October 12, 2018 at Church of Incarnation in Charlottesville, VA.
The family will receive friends at 11:45 A.M.
Memorial contributions may be made in Betsy’s honor to Girlsontherun.org, a positive youth development program for girls.
