Elizabeth Sue Beachy

Elizabeth Sue (Barkman) Beachy, age 69, of Free Union, Virginia, died at home on Monday, February 24, 2025, after a 7-month battle with cancer.

Sue was born on August 23, 1955, in Holmes County, OH, to Raymond and Clara (Mullet) Barkman.

Sue will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years, Roman Merle Beachy; daughter Kim, of Free Union, VA; son Gene (Kristina Bontrager), of Middlebury, IN; daughter Geneva (Paul Glick), of El Salvador; son Jevon (Abigail Troyer), of Kenya, Africa; and 11 grandchildren; Siblings Ervin, Martin, James, Joel, Clement, Gaylord, and Lael. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Clara Barkman.

Sue lived a life of service to others. She served as a single at Faith Misson Home and later became a supportive helpmeet to her husband in his ministry at Faith Mission Home, Faith Mission Fellowship, and Kenya, Africa. They served at FMH for 16 years, and at FMF from 1984 on. She poured herself into serving in Kenya with her husband and family for 11 years. Known as Mama Sue, she was dearly loved and appreciated by the Kenyan people.

Upon returning from Kenya, she was diagnosed with cancer. After a successful surgery, the cancer returned within a year. She experienced miraculous healing.

In July of 2024, she experienced a sudden decline in health and was diagnosed with cancer once again.

Throughout the next 7 months, she never lost her sense of humor and her grateful spirit. She liked to say that God had given her a gift of 13 more years.

We miss her dearly but rejoice that she is no longer suffering and is Home at last!

The family will receive friends at Faith Mission Fellowship on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00. A service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, beginning at 10:00.
