Eleanor Marshall Pace, 77, of Ruckersville passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at the University of Virginia Hospital.
Eleanor was born October 2, 1936 in Greene County. She was the daughter of the late David Howard Marshall and Bertha Jane Roberts Marshall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Pace; two brothers, David Marshall and Tavner Marshall, her sister-in-law, Cornelia P. Eary and her brother-in-law, Eugene “Mutt” Taylor.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Pace Arrington of Charlottesville; her son, Marshall Anthony “Tony” Pace (Norma) of Ruckersville; two sisters, Joyce Taylor of Stanardsville and Jane Haney (Harol) of Richmond; two sister-in-laws, Ann Marshall and Gwen P. Sprouse, her brother-in-laws, Richard F. Eary (Opal), Ron Pace (Nancy) and Jay Pace (Gondi); a grandson, Mark Arrington (Amy) of Ruckersville; a granddaughter, Jennifer Arrington Spratley (Meade) of Charlottesville; a great-grandson, Pace Chapman Arrington of Ruckersville; a second great-grandchild expected in April 2014 and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and attended Mountain View Methodist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, tending to her flowers, softball and children but above all her love was in her family.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Brandon Ives and Rev. William Payne officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
