Elbert Lee Shiflett

Elbert Lee Shiflett, 85, of Ruckersville VA Passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 6, 1934 in Greene Co., VA

Elbert is proceeded in death by his parents Arthur and Sigurney Shiflett, and his siblings Leonard, Robert, Irene, Madeline, Evangline and Ruby and his Granddaughter Ashley Amanda Martin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Elizabeth Glass Shiflett; his children, Lisa Jo Farrell (Doug Brooks) and Bert Lee Shiflett (Heather); grandchildren Justin Martin (Ashlie), Codey Martin (Daniela Bartolo), Aaron Martin (Lexi Reaves), and Alaynie and Briana Shiflett; great granddaughter, Karlee Martin; one brother, Otis Shiflett and many other family members and friends.

He was self-employed all of his life and his hobbies included, in the early years, working in his Harley Davidson Shop that he owned in Charlottesville VA and winning numerous trophies in his motorcycle racing career. He also had a love for boxing and lots of other sports.

Later on in life he met Liz, started his family and settled down. He kept his interest in sports and motorcycles but at this time he placed his family first and put his wild days to rest.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11:00 am at Holly Memorial Gardens. Family will welcome guests at Liz’s home for coffee and reminiscing from 3:00pm to 5:00pm after services end.
