Edna Mary Madeline Ashley Norris
January 3, 1925 — March 1, 2014
Edna Mary Madeline Ashley Norris, 89, of Culpeper, Virginia,
went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 1, 2014, surrounded by her loving
family. She was born January 3, 1925,
in Plymouth, England.
Edna met and married Robert “Sug” Norris on January 24,
1944, during World War II in Plymouth, England.
She came to this country as his “war bride” and everyone who met her,
loved her. She will be missed by her family and all who have known her. She worked many years for the Culpeper Book
Store and later she and Sug owned the Culpeper Bowling Lanes.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Norris
Sr.,father, Leonard William Ashley, her mother, Violet May Harris and her
brother, Ronald Harris all of Plymouth,
England.
She is survived by her daughter, Madeline Norris Price and
her husband, Johnny of Brightwood, VA, and her son Robert C. Norris, Jr. and
his wife, Judy of Mitchells. Six grandchildren, JT Price II and his wife,
Tracy, Jennifer Price Brockman and her husband John Robert, Victoria Norris Bassols and her husband,
Joaquin, Robin Norris Velazquez, Ashleigh Norris Coffey and her husband, Matt
and Joseph Norris and his fiancé, Sara.
Additional survivors
include twelve great-grandchildren, Johnny T. Price III, Jake Price, Nathan
Brockman, Tucker Brockman, Elizabeth Brockman, Andrew Wince, Jordan Wince,
Candace Wince, Dustin Smith, Liam Smith, Julius Velazquez, and Meadow Coffey
and two great-great grandchildren, Carlisle Wince and Dalis Wince.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5, 2014,
from 1-3 pm at the Reva Fire Hall, 18230 Birmingham Rd., Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014,
at 1 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 6262 Hoover Rd Reva, VA 22735, with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her son, Robert C. Norris, Jr., her
son-in-law, Johnny T. Price, her grandsons, JT Price and Joseph Norris, and her
great grandsons, Johnny T. Price III, Jordan Wince and Jake Price. Honorary pallbearers will be her
grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jennifer Price Brockman, Ashleigh Norris
Coffey, Nathan Brockman, Tucker Brockman, Elizabeth Brockman, Victoria Norris
Bassols, Robin Norris Velazquez, Andrew Wince, Candace Wince, Carlisle Wince
and Meadow Coffey.
