Duane David Morris, Jr., 31, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at his home in Ruckersville. He was born on July 18, 1979.
Duane graduated from William Monroe high School where he played varsity football and baseball. He was an avid softball player who had a deep love for the game. He as employed by Davis Lawn Care.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Alice Morris and grandmother, Shirley Gibson.
He is survived by his daughter, Alyssa, his son, Quinten, his grandfather, Gene Gibson, his mother and father, Donna and Duane Sr., his sister Amanda Morris, fiancé, Anita Moore, two nephews, Dekota and Johnathan Morris, three uncles, Raymond and Stephen Morris and Tommy Gibson, eight aunts, Valarie and Cindy Gibson, Joyce Plumb, Dianna Crawford, Jaye Dale Morris, Laura Canipe, Tracy Singleton and Michele Collier, a special cousin, Vikki Plumb and many, many close cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to your favorite youth league sport.
The family will receive friends on February 24, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday at Evergreen Cemetery.
