Donald Lee Shifflett

Donald Lee Shifflett, age 67, of Ruckersville, VA, passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2024, at his home. He was born June 26, 1956, to the late Hiram Shifflett and Mary Elizabeth Walker. 

He is preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Eugene Shifflett, and two grandchildren, Angela Marie Thomas and Zachary Lee Thomas. 

Donald was survived by his two daughters, Mary Shifflett and her husband Travis from Charlottesville, April Lynn Thomas and her husband, Kenny from Shipman; brother, Steve Shifflett, of Ruckersville; two sisters, Linda Price and Rosa Thomason, both of Crozet; seven grandchildren, Christian Stevens from Charlottesville, Tyler James Thomas of Shipman, Alexus Biggs of Colonial Heights, Alex Lee Thomas of Shipman, Donald James Biggs of Colonial Heights, Ethan Isaiah Thomas of Shipman, Kayla Maria Thomas of Shipman; two nephews from Crozet; two nieces, one from Charlottesville, and the other from Niles, Michigan; and four great-nieces. Donald also has an extended family at Kroger and Wood Grill Buffet in Charlottesville.

Donald was a big fan of music and a huge lifelong Johnny Cash fan. He also loved the Virginia Cavaliers and trains, but most of all, his biggest love was his two girls and his grandchildren. They were the light of his entire life. 

A funeral service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, located at 960 Monacan Trail in Albemarle County, beginning at 11 a.m.
