David Mark Myers
David Mark Myers went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 28, 2011. He was born on February 21, 1943 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Alvin and Ruth Cronk Myers.
Dave was very active in the Greene County community. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served and honored his country during Vietnam. He served as Republican Party Chair in Greene County for 12 years.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Anne Robertson Myers, his son, Maxwell Myers of Dahlonega, GA, two daughters, Lisa Bazemore and her husband, Tyrone of Thylie, TX and Oleta Powers and her husband, Buddy of Dahlonega, GA.
Additional survivors include his stepson, EW Buddy Melton of Mechanicsville, VA and his stepdaughter, Cheryl French and her husband, Dwayne of Sandston, VA, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 3 brothers, Alvin and Sandy of Mechanicsburg, PA, Levi and Madeline of Mechanicsburg, PA and Joseph and Connie of Bradenton, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Westover United Methodist Church, Rt 609, 2801 Fredericksburg Road Ruckersville, VA 22968.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Greene County Rescue Squad, Po Box 302 Stanardsville, VA 22968, Evergreene Nursing Care Center, 355 William Mills Dr Stanardsville, VA 22973, and /or Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway Suite 300 Charlottesville, VA 22911.
