David Warren Chiles

David Warren Chiles of Louisa was fully healed by The Great Physician on December 3, 2024, at the age of 70. He departed this world from the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville with an inspiring testimony of faith, love, and resilience. He was born Dec. 31, 1953.  

David is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Suzanne Chiles, and their two children, Wesley Chiles (Tabethia) and Gail Massie (Sam) both of Louisa. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Lexington, Lincoln, Lennox David, and Winnie. David is also survived by his siblings: Dorothy Hiter, Donna Steigler, and Roy Chiles III. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Wilson, Sr. and Edythe Chiles; his sisters, Deanna Webb, and Mary Jo Hopkins; and his brothers, Wesley W. Chiles, Jr., James "Jimmy" Chiles, and Johnny Chiles, Sr.

David was a devoted and compassionate husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, nephew, and friend. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and he especially treasured the time spent with his beloved grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness. David's selflessness was a cornerstone of his character—he consistently put the needs of others before his own, radiating kindness and generosity in all he did.

A man of unwavering faith, David's deep love for God and his family was evident in every aspect of his life. His steadfast belief, infectious positivity, and radiant smile were a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew him. Through his example, he encouraged others to persevere in the face of life’s challenges, leaving a legacy of hope, love, and resilience that will be cherished by all who were fortunate to share in his journey .

David graduated from Orange County High School, Wingate Bible College (Ministry), and Piedmont Community College (Business). He worked at UVA Hospital in Patient Financial Services for 29 years.

David is a part of The Point Church in Louisa. A visitation and ceremony to celebrate David's legacy will be held at The Point's Louisa Campus located at 406 E. Main Street, Louisa, Virginia 23093 on Sunday December 8, 2024. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation beginning at 1:30PM and ceremony at 2:30PM. Childcare will be available for children under the age of 5. Rev. Gabe Turner and Rev. Paige Green will be co-officiating.

A graveside service will be held immediately following at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa. All are invited to partake in David's special request of all guests: to come together after the graveside to enjoy good food and fellowship at The Joy Center located at 5478 Yanceyville Road, Louisa, Virginia 23093. In lieu of flowers, David requested donations be made to The Legacy Offering at The Point Church, www.thepointva.com/legacy

Arrangements are entrusted to Batten Funeral Home of Ruckersville, Virginia.
