Charlene Frances Shifflett

Charlene Frances Shifflett, 87, of Stanardsville, Virginia passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022 at her home.

She was born August 21, 1934 in Alexandria, VA, daughter of the late Russell Mahoney and Ethel Walters Mahoney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert R. Shifflett; sister, Helen Jones; and brother, Harold Mahoney.

Charlene is survived by her children, Elaine Whetzel (David Cobb), Ronald Shifflett, Donna Roach (Donnie) and Karen Hammack (Gary); sister, Alease Holley; grandchildren, Jeff Whetzel, Katelyn Wolfe (Tyler) and Michael Roach (Leah); great-grandchildren, Jaron Whetzel, Madelyn Roach, Lynnlee Wolfe and Olivia Roach; and many other family members and friends.

To Charlene, family was everything. She always put others first before herself.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Evergreen Church of the Brethren with Pastor Steven Holley officiating.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
