Cecil Duty

Cecil Duty, 81, of Ruckersville, VA passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

He was born June 13, 1937 in Council, VA , son of the late Tilden Morgan Duty and Ollie Compton Duty.

Cecil is survived by his three sons, Terry Duty and his wife, Brenda, Joey Duty and his wife, Patricia and Ronnie Duty; two grandchildren, Ashley and Megan Duty; special friend, Mary Ruth Lamont; and many other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Duty.

Cecil was a printer for 29 years with King Lindsay Printing and The Daily Progress. He later retired from Broadus Wood Elementary School after 14 years of service. Cecil was also a member of Jefferson Park Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Jefferson Park Baptist Church, 2505 Jefferson Park Avenue Charlottesville, VA 22903 with Pastor Sam Crosby officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
