Cathy King Linebrink
Cathy King Linebrink, 52, of Scottsville, VA passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born on August 29, 1963 in Richmond, VA to the late William W. and Evelyn Moorman King.
Cathy was a graduate of Bluefield College, and put her English major to good use in her career as both a teacher and a legal support professional. In her spare time, Cathy enjoyed being active with her church family, and spent countless evenings and weekends with her husband and children participating in scouting activities. Nothing was more important to Cathy than her family. She was also a wonderful friend, with an excellent sense of humor and a caring spirit. She was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. Cathy had a radiant smile, which rarely slipped, and even kept her Polyanna attitude during her fight of over two years against cancer.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Mann. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Allan Linebrink, Jr.; her children, Matthew Karl Myers (25), Lawrence Allan Linebrink, III (18), Christiana Marie Linebrink (16.5), Sarah Olivia Linebrink (13), and Donathan William Linebrink (11); her sister, Virginia Madison (Chuck); and her nieces and nephews, Tommy, Cameron, Patrick, Sidney, Alexandra, Nathan, Mason, and Abigail. She also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends whose lives were enriched simply by having known her.
The family would like to thank everyone at Faith & Grace Christian Fellowship, MichieHamlett and Cavalier Reporting for their support during Cathy’s illness. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the UVA Hope Cancer Center for their assistance with this fight.
