Carol Ann Finch, 59 of Charlottesville, VA died on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Hospice House. She was born on December 11, 1953 in Rochester, NY to the late Morton and Lucille Mason Finch.
Carol was very active in the Charlottesville community as the top volunteer for Charlottesville Rec Club for several decades, directing numerous races and events. She served as the President of the Track Club and on the Women’s 4 Miler Race Committee.
She is survived by her life partner, Coleman Charlton of Charlottesville, her uncle, Paul Mason and his wife, Ethel, two aunts, Margaret Gillman and Martha Hanson and her husband, Jim and numerous cousin’s family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Howard Finch.
In Charlottesville, instead of a church service, a gathering in celebration of Carol's life is planned for sometime in the next few weeks. At the gathering we will have recording stations, so that everyone can share a story of how Carol affected their lives.
A private service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Rochester, NY at a later date.
