Carl Franklin Eppard

Carl Franklin Eppard, 91, of Stanardsville, VA died on October 14, 2012 at his residence. He was born on September 19, 1921 in Stanardsville to Eugene Lloyd Eppard and Marie Antoinette Eppard.

Mr. Eppard served his country during WWII in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 126. Later he retired from Columbia Natural Gas after 39 years and also served on the board for the Greene County School system. He enjoyed farming and gardening but most of all he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Anne Ward Eppard, three sons, Dale S. Eppard and his wife, Sandra, Darryl K. Eppard and his wife, Rita and Mark Daniel Eppard, Sr. and his companion, Adena George all of Stanardsville, VA.

Additional survivors include three grandsons, Justin D. Eppard, Mark Daniel Eppard, Jr., and Brandon Mawyer three granddaughters, Kayla Whitney Eppard, Morgan Lindsey Eppard, and Brittany Alverado one brother, Harold T. Eppard of Stanardsville, five nieces, four nephews, two great grandchildren and his brother-in-law, William W. Bennett of Mineral.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Marie Gabriel.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Holly Memorial Gardens.
