Brenda Ann Shifflett
Brenda Ann Shifflett, 57, of Stanardsville, VA went home to be with God on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Hospice House in Charlottesville. She was born on March 17, 1954 in Greene County to the late Matnell Moyers Lyles.
Brenda retired from State Farm after 37 years of service and was a member of Mountain View Chapel Church. She enjoyed gardening, doing yard work and tending to her flowers. Above all she had a tremendous love for her family and her kind spirit will live in each of them forever.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Wade Shifflett, her son, Brandon Wade Shifflett both of Stanardsville, VA, her sister, Betty Jo Shifflett and her husband, Bobby of Ruckersville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Additional survivors include her brother-in-laws, Pete Morris, James Shifflett and his wife, Faye and Jeff Shifflett and his wife, Brenda and her sister-in-laws, Eunice Lyles Meadows, Linda Price and her husband, Gary and Wendy Shifflett and her husband, Ronnie.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Lyles and her sister, Janice M. Morris.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her nieces and nephews, Robin, Kim, Peter, Melissa, Lisa, Andy, Sammy and Donna along with many great nieces and nephews for their love and dedication given to Brenda over the years to make sure she never stayed alone; the wonderful nurses at the Hospice House, especially Wendy Knight Frye, who all made us feel at home; her special nephew, Jeffery Shifflett for visiting her so often and feeding Wade for Brenda; and her family, close friends and neighbors for their unconditional love and prayers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Duggins officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions will be made in her name to the Hospice House, 501 Park St Charlottesville, VA 22902 and/or the American Cancer Society 1445 Rio Road East # 104 Charlottesville, VA 22901.
