Brenda Powell

Brenda Marshall Powell passed away June 28, 2016 at her home in Ruckersville, Virginia. She was born January 22, 1947 to the late Herbert W. Marshall and Helen Eppard Marshall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Hollis N. Haney; sister, Virginia Marshall Lewis; son, Lawrence Melvin Thompson.
She leaves behind the love of her life and soulmate, Bryant Lane Powell; daughter, JoAnne T. Boone and her husband, Danny L.; son, Bryan Michael Powell and his wife, Sara Ann; stepdaughters, Tonya S. Powell Adkins and Tracie N. Powell; brother, Wayne Marshall and his life partner, Sue; sisters, Nona M. Jarrell and her husband, Ronnie, Wanda Haney Shelton and her life partner, M.D. Mallory, Lisa Haney Tilley and Lonnie; grandsons, Lawrence M. Thompson, Jr., Matthew T. Boone, Brandon L. Boone and Patrick C. Powell; uncle Raymond Eppard and his wife, Ethel; aunt, Christine Collier and her husband, Henry.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Virginia.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the Ryan Funeral Home with Pastor Wendell Lamb officiating. Interment will follow at Stanardsville Cemetery.
