Benjamin Cole Meade, 33, beloved father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of May 11, 2016. He is survived by Belinda Jarrell, and their two children, Leah Marie Meade, 3, and Thomas Walter Meade, 1. Also surviving him are his mother and father, Tracy M. Meade of Charlottesville and Barry E. Meade of Troy, his younger brother, John W. Meade, his grandmother, Lorraine S. Meade, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Ben spent his free time with his family and was passionately engaged in the lives of his children. He was a graduate of Fluvanna County High School and later VCU, where he majored in Communications. Growing up in Greene County and later Fluvanna, Ben made lifelong friendships, developed an appreciation for all types of music, the band Nirvana being his favorite, and enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and football. He had an encyclopedic sports memory, was a die-hard Cowboys fan, and won his fantasy football league for the past two years. Ben shared his passion for literature with his beloved Leah and Thomas by reading them nightly bedtime stories.
