Beatrice Gibson Miller, 90, of Ruckersville, VA died on Thursday, August 09, 2012 at her residence. She was born on March 20, 1922 in Albemarle County to the late Edward Abraham and Lucy M. Hicks Gibson.

She was lovingly known as Aunt Bea to all she knew. She loved birds and her flowers, anything she touched grew with beauty. She was a member of the Eastern Star Northern Virginia and an avid Episcopalian at St. John-the-Baptist Episcopal Church in Ivy.

She is survived by her son, Gary Bryan Miller of Charlottesville, her special niece, Lucy, great niece, Karen, special friend, Ed and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Herndon Miller, her son, Larry Miller; her siblings, Edward Gibson, Martha Gibson Bunch, Carol Gibson, Massie Gibson, Grayson Gibson and dear friend, Pam.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. John-the-Baptist Episcopal Church, 4708 Dick Woods Rd. Charlottesville, VA 22903 with the Rev. Kathleen Sturges officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. John-the-Baptist Episcopal Church PO Box 351 Ivy, VA 22945.

Interment will be held at 2 p.m. at Ruckersville Community Cemetery.
