Aubrey Bernard Dean
Aubrey Bernard Dean, 93, of Ruckersville, VA departed this earthly life on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Hospice House in Charlottesville. He was born on April 18, 1921 in Lydia Mountain, VA to the late Reuben Brown Dean and Fannie Oliver Dean.
Mr. Dean was a World War II veteran. He learned the electrical trade on the GI bill and started a very successful business in Kensington, MD. He retired early to come back to Greene County. He did volunteer work for many churches and organizations here. He was an active member of Westover UMC and has been involved in mission work at Red Bird and other church mission projects.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Dean, his children, Faye Ridenour and her husband, John of Laurel, MD, and Mary Perfater and her husband, Steve of Barboursville, his brother, Norman Oliver Dean and his wife, Rosemary of Ruckersville, two sister-in-laws, Betty Dean of Stuarts Draft and Dorothy Dean of Kensington, MD, and his step children, Sandra Bradley and her husband, David of Moorefield, WV, Chris Baughman and her husband, Blair of Richmond, VA and Carol Spicer and her husband, Mark of Keswick, VA.
He was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Angela Grossman and her husband, Brian, Chris Ridenour, Beth Jordan, Sarah Perfater, Matthew Perfater and his wife, Christine, Michael Morris and his wife, Kelly and David Morris, eight step grandchildren,, Olivia Saunders and her husband, Tyler, Jason Bradley, Heather Lord and husband, Ethan, Dylan Bradley, Mariah Bradley, Tori Baughman, Nickolas Spicer and Chelsea Spicer, 11 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Lawson Dean, his daughter, Audrey Morris and her husband, Charlie, his brothers, Nicholas Dean, Robert Dean, Lester Dean, Davis Dean and wife, Marion, Russell Brown Dean and Randolph Dean, his sisters, Bertha Dean, Marie Dean Burner and her husband, Hensel and Daisy Dean Harry and her husband, Bob.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968 with the Rev. Norma Dean
(his wife) officiating.
A private service will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Rockville, MD at 3 p.m.
