Arlene Mearl Lamb
Arlene Mearl Lamb, 81, of Stanardsville, VA died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born on October 31, 1930 in Madison County to the late Clarence and Lillian Taylor Slaughter.
Mrs. Lamb was a member of Shiloh Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed sewing and gardening her flowers. Above all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished her family.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl Lamb and her husband, Sonny of Stanardsville, Delmar “Buck” Lamb and his wife, Denice of Madison, Jenny Breeden and her husband, Mike of Madison, Bruce Lamb of Stanardsville, and Glen Lamb of Stanardsville.
Additional survivors include her two brothers, Zeb Slaughter of MD and Clarence Slaughter of Stanardsville, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar S. Lamb, and two sisters, Mary Taylor and Norma Taylor.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Shifflett and Rev. Jeff Shifflett officiating.
Interment will be held in Pocosan Mountain Cemetery.
