Anne W. Eppard

Anne W. Eppard, 94, of Stanardsville, Virginia passed away at her home December 22, 2022.

She was born December 16, 1928 in Free Union, VA, daughter of the late Shepherd E. and Ida Dunn Ward.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Eppard; her son, Dale S. Eppard; sisters, Sarah Ward, Mildred W. Gay, and Jamie Bennett; Uncle, James A. Dunn; and niece, Sue G. Carter.

Anne moved to her Uncle Jim’s farm in Greene County with her mother and sister, Jamie after the death of her father when she was four years old, where she lived most of her life. She enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables and helping Carl with whatever needed to be done on the farm. She especially enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Darryl (Rita) Eppard and Mark (Adena) Eppard; daughter-in-law, Sandra Eppard; grandchildren, Justin Eppard, Daniel Eppard, Brandon Mawyer (Mariah), Kayla Blincoe (Adam), Morgan Eppard, and Brittany Canniff (Derek); great-grandchildren, Kaden, Anthony, Raygan, Connor, Bennett, Elliott, and Samuel; brother-in-law, Harold Eppard; friends, Judy Eppard, Debra Shifflett, and Janice Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and her cats, Mushy and Pink.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Holly Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made in Anne’s memory to Medi Home Hospice and/or the American Diabetes Association and/or a charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brooke Bostice and staff and Medi Home Hospice for their excellent care of Anne.
