Ann Marie Furr

August 20, 1952 — March 17, 2017

Ann Marie (Morris) Furr, 64, passed away on March 17, 2017. Ann was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 20, 1952 to the late Cecil Earl Morris and Katherine Marie Morris of Ruckersville, Virginia.

She was the second eldest of six, to include her sisters - Joyce Wood, Evelyn Robbins and Cecilia Roberts and brothers - the late Cecil Earl Morris, Jr. and Harold Morris.

Ann was known for her ease in conversation with everyone she met, her blunt honesty, and contagious smile. Ann was willing to go out of her way to help anyone in need. She was a proud wife, mother and grandmother. She was simply the best at everything she set her mind to - with unfailing dedication, honesty, courage, grace, dignity and style. She was a beautiful woman that drew people to her naturally.

Ann worked for over 35 years as an Executive Director at Wolpoff and Abramson. She took great pride in her work and her team. Her management style, although demanding, garnered the respect of her fellow employees. She worked hard to set an example; she was fair and honest and rarely missed time at work. She considered her work colleagues an extension of her family.

Ann was married to Willie for 47 years, and raised two daughters, Tammy and Tonya; or as Ann referred to them as her girls. Ann loved her girls and raised them to be smart, strong, stubborn women - just like her – she was still involved in guiding and advising them throughout her life. Her guiding presence will be sorely missed in their lives. Willie adored Ann and told the girls often how great they were, but that they didn’t hold a candle to their mother. Ann was the most devoted, loving grandmother on earth. There was nothing that she would not do for her grandchildren, Ian and Haley Buttner. She was involved in their daily life from birth until her last breath. Ann's hobbies included many things, but her love of gardening was inspiring and her ability to make anything thrive showed in the beautiful gardens around her home which she tended with her beloved sister Joyce.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ryans Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968 and funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Church of the Brethren, 645 Evergreen Church Rd., Stanardsville, VA 226973 with Rev.
